Dick Tracy: Is the enemy of my enemy my friend, or the enemy of my friend my enemy? Pat Patton: What? Dick Tracy: Or enemy of my enemy my enemy? Pat Patton: What'd he say? Dick Tracy: The enemy of my enemy is my enemy. Sam Catchem: He said the enemy of his enemy is his enemy. Pat Patton: Oh.

Dick Tracy: Is the enemy of my enemy my friend, or the enemy of my friend my enemy?

Pat Patton: What?

Dick Tracy: Or enemy of my enemy my enemy?

Pat Patton: What’d he say?

Dick Tracy: The enemy of my enemy is my enemy.

Sam Catchem: He said the enemy of his enemy is his enemy.

Pat Patton: Oh.

It was that kind of weekend.  You know, the one where you have to kinda pull for the… ::shudders:: eViL Sp*rs?

Yea.  They finished off the Blues.  1-0.  Enemy of my enemy, defeats an enemy makes  the victorious enemy… my friend?

Then there were the Reds.  The Villains (no, not a typo) get annihilated 5-0 by the Reds.  Enemy of my (annoying-gnat-like ankle-biting) enemy, is supremely triumphant… makes them…my friend?

Then there’s the “fellow League member of little consequence” (Fulham) SPECTACULARLY DISMANTLING our greatest enemy, ManYoooooo two-ZIP — which makes the former our BESTEST BUDDY OL’ PALS IN THE ENTIRE PREMIERSHIP.

Right?

Thoughts:

  1. Friedel did not deserve the red card. That was a tad too harsh.  Taking out the opponent like that was not his aim.  Now Villa have to suffer without him against United.  Expect an appeal, and rightly so.
  2. Wayne Rooney throwing a fit and getting his second card of the game takes the cake.

Oh yea, Gallas, what was that goal all about?

No time for finger pointing, we came out to put away Newcastle 3-1 to get us 3 points ahead of AV.  Not comfortable breathing room, but we’re demonstrating an uptick in form while AV seems like they’re sputtering out.
